Cal Method told me a good story about racing Johnny once. While waiting in the staging lanes to race, Johnny comes coasting up behind him and bumps into the back of his Chevy pretty hard with the big Buick. Cal got so mad he lost his focus and naturally lost the race but that was John’s plan all along.

Didn't know him but must have been quite a guy and hard core racer.
