St Louis problems!
It appears that the new owners of St Louis are still trying to figure out how to operate a drag strip. Although we love that place and it is a nice facility, they have a lot to learn. The track was marginal all weekend. I know it was cold, but if they would have preped it correctly it could have been a lot better. For first round on Sunday morning, my car rattled the tires when it came off the stop. I got it settled down and then it made a hard move so I shut it down. It's not worth it. I listened to the other cars and there were a few others that weren't making it down. It just wouldn't hold the higher horsepower cars. I heard some super stockers where having issues making it down too.
My third time run on Saturday was ruined because the starter didn't know what he was doing! The guy in the other lane broke after the burn out, so I was on a single. Apparently they didn't override the system because when I staged and matted it, the tree never came down. I finally let off before I fried my convertor. About that time they must have realized it and started the tree. Well, I was off the gas so I just drove down the track. I guess I could have backed up and started over, but I was pissed and I am sure the convertor was hot as heck. I am glad to see the place back open, but they will need to get their stuff together or people won't come back. Just my .02! Ryan Koener S/G 310c |
