Best bang for the buck
In an effort to be sure I spend money where it would provide the best benefit, I would like to know how many of you consider having a Vacuum pump and/or a crank trigger as necessities on Super Gas engines. Reher-Morrison does not put them on their Super Series engines but that does not mean these components are not common amoung the catagory.
Please feel free to weigh in. Thanks Bob |
Re: Best bang for the buck
I have run SG for many years and used the exhaust evacuation system and vacuum pumps.
In fact I used a vacuum pump before they were for sale for crankcase evacuation. I used a modified smog pump for years which worked very well. With a vacuum pump you have less oil leaks and it does pick up horsepower. The horsepower is not that much and we throttle stop the engine anyway so a few horses is not a big deal. I personally like the vacuum pump and recommend the Moroso units. The crank trigger is nice but not sure of any major benefit other than it is easy to set the timing and does not move from the initial setting. My Experience Rick Cates |
