iPads At The Race Track?

I just got one of the new Apple iPads, and I was wondering how many other racers have them and take them to the track. What are some of your favorite uses for them and what apps are useful to you? I have had an iPhone for a while now and it has proven very valuable while at the track, sometimes being the only way I can communicate online. Jim

Jim,
The one I have for work is great for pictures, music, and Internet. The Jegs practice tree is free too. I have Verizon for the Internet, and have never had an issue with always having Internet service. I am sure there are more things than I am aware of, hopefully others will chime in and we can learn more.

Take care
Sean

My favorite ap is my Kindle ap, can read, download a book whenever I want. We all know there is plenty of downtime at a racetrack, lots of time to read! ;-)

I get National Dragster online now so can always read the latest (or back) issues on my iPad.

There is a log book app for the iPad it called raceIQ. I have it, but haven't been to the track yet.

If you are new to the iPad use, you will need to have an iTune account to download the latest changes to your operating system. I do this on a weekly basis. There may not be any updates but if there is it will download them. I never go anywhere without it my iPad. The same goes for your iPhone and iPOD Touch.

Another neat little adapter is the one that you can load your camera SD into and download pics at the track into your iPad for a larger/better look at pictures vice the view port on your digital camera. It goes right into you charging port. It's called the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit for $29.00.

Thanks Eddie, I have an Apple iTunes account and have several apps. I synced the iPad with my music and mail and all the stuff my iPhone has. I will have to look into the iPad camera connection.

Julie, I have the iBooks app and already have a few books on there. You are right, it will come in handy for reading at the track!

Vic, I hadn't thought of the 1329go app! I will do that tonight.
I have the Jegs practice tree app, Lord knows I need it! Jim

I use mine with the Radarscope app to keep track of any bad weather that may be coming and when. Saved my a-- a bunch of times. Gives you plenty of time to put away your stuff. There are some good FREE radar apps also.
