carb ?
question: what causes a carb to smoke after the engine has been turned off?
always thought to change metering block gaskets, but they are new... |
Re: carb ?
Keith you maybe leaking gas through the needle and seat. I'd check that first it don't take much if that's not it you may be a little rich on your setup. Hope this helps.

Re: carb ?
Gotta agree with fuel getting past the needle andseat assembly. I don't
beleive that it is a issue to worry about. |
Re: carb ?
thanks guys, any way to check this, or a remedy, or just replace needle and seat?
|
Re: carb ?
Also check the gaskets behind the power valve/blocks

Re: carb ?
Keith just change the needle assembly and see what it does

Re: carb ?
So ??????

Re: carb ?
Make sure the Float is set properly
Make sure the Needle & Seat are in good / usable condition Make sure the Seat Is Tight (yes, I have seen these loosen & start to back themselves out) Verify Proper Fuel Pressure |
Re: carb ?
Is it really smoke?? Could it be fuel vapor coming back up from an open intake valve?
|
Re: carb ?
most of the time its fuel vapor. left over gas in intake. if anything is leaking look down carb with flashlight you should see boosters dripping if seats/floats are leaking
