What would I need to weigh?
What would a dragster need to weigh with 146 cu. Inches
|
Re: What would I need to weigh?
depends on the class--remember its all about pounds per cubic inch WITH DRIVER INCLUDED----TOTAL WEIGHT
|
Re: What would I need to weigh?
Naturally aspirated.

Re: What would I need to weigh?
still no help--carb no carb ---transmission type ---4-6-8 cylinder engine--- etc---what class do you think ya wanta run
|
Re: What would I need to weigh?
Sounds to me like 2.4 liter could be carbed or F. I.

Re: What would I need to weigh?
If carb, 2 valve pushrod, automatic-that is F/ED and needs to weigh 910 pounds with driver.
If four valve, can only run F/D, no matter what and needs to 1095 pounds with driver. If 2 valve with purshrods and FI or EFI, you should run a clutchless five speed and needs to weigh 1020 with driver. |
Re: What would I need to weigh?
Thanks for the replies, just doing some bench racing and wondered.
There is a naturally aspirated, overhead valve, pneumatic valve spring, 146 cu.in. V8. That makes 740 hp and 202 ft lbs at 18000 rpm motor out there.... :D:D:D guessing the pneumatic spring part might be tough to get by tech:) |
Re: What would I need to weigh?
not sure about that but I do not think anything other than a "conventional" automotive valve actuated system is legal--but I've been wrong before
