Noble weather
Still early, but weather forecast for the Div 4 LODRS race at Noble, OK is getting worse.
Weather Channel shows rain chances are 30% Fri & Sat, 60% Sunday. Rats. |
Re: Noble weather
I've only been there once but I'd venture a wild guess and predict that the wind may blow at some time during the weekend. (Probably a headwind.)

Weather men don't have a great track record in Oklahoma. Wasn't supposed to rain during the Tulsa points race. They missed that one too. |
Re: Noble weather
Ed,
I put as much belief in the Weather Channel as I do, well never mind..... :-) I prefer to monitor weatherunderground.com, seems like over the years they've hit it more consistently than TWC. That being said, do you realize that this years event will be the 20th LODRS event @ Thunder Valley Raveway Park? 20 years..... And in the previous 19 we've had LOTS of sunshine, some SNOW, rain of course and even some hail. Believe I remember watching a tornadic front blow through one year as well...... And like Mr. Norton said, wind,...... cross, head & tail, sometimes all 3 in the same weekend! I've been to the previous 19, and will be there announcing the 20th as well. No race car though, it's gone, I've retired. And most unfortunately, no Lynn, for he's gone too.... but I know he'll be there in spirit! Looking forward to seeing everyone for the 20th, planning on having some fun next weekend, hope you all are too! Unk |

Just not enough time with my schedule to try to keep up with a race car. Of course I had a GREAT time with it, but it's the people in the sport that make it memorable..... Unk |
Re: Noble weather
I have also raced at Noble's Division race many years and seen//experienced all different weather conditions. When it was held in August it was sometimes unbearable HOT.
I have also experienced some really good weekends weather and at least one really bad weekend when it rained 4 plus inches overnight either Friday or Saturday night about 3 to 5 years ago. That was one ugly weekend and the race was postponed. That red mud after it rains is really slick and mucky. That day almost all the rigs parked in the grass had to be pulled out with tractors and some pulled out the next day. A really ugly weekend...... however, I still go back for more... Rick Cates |
