New Camaro
 
Watching TV last night, commercial comes on for new Camaro,
Unload from transporter at drag strip,
Drive up to line , guy presses a button GM likes to call LAUNCH CONTROL.
Any thoughts?

Within a year or two all new high-performance cars will have a form of electronic launch control. There are a few American cars with it already. Some are programmable (in terms of launch rpm), some are not. They work well, but generally will not out-perform an experienced driver.

Might as well sit in the stands and use your remote control transmitter. Is this drag racing or flying model airplanes. Might as well allow delay boxes and throttle stops while your at it.

You are right but it's not easy, just ask Nissan about the skyline theirs broke the trans-axle = class action lawsuits and recalls.

I agree, it is not easy to design a system to do what we're going to ask these cars to do.
