combo class
i raced in my first combo class race today....raced Bobby Warren who had 3 tenths on me but I needed more practice on the tree, congrats Bobby and i improved on my light. I am not sure if I like this new way to race for class, its kinda waste of time and money as some cars are so quick you know they will win, they don't
have to hit the tree as they know they have you covered. In the future unless i need the practice on the tree I think I will pass on this combo class. BTW congratulations to Bob C for winning and Brian O for ru. Glenn |
Re: combo class
Glenn this new "class win" crap is a cop out way for NHRA to save a couple of hundred dollars on plastic Wallys! Indy will never be the same as class wins will not get you in. I used to enjoy Indy due to all of the "odd ball" cars that went there to win class but that is history. My Brother runs a SS/GT car but I must admit I pull for the old school stock and super stockers. I guess in 2012 the SS line up at indy will be new Chryslers, new Fords, and the rest will be bogus SS/GT combos. I miss seeing the cars that brought the class where it is. Don Jackson

Re: combo class
Dave,I guess he means the inscription plate. They've been plastic since 2003 I think.Nothing new.
As far as the combo I ran the one at Englishtown and the fastest car (by .20) went red 1st rd.I lost to the winner and after doing some adjustments he won and was still slower than the fastest guy.Sometimes you eat the bear and sometime the bear eats you.I actually thought it was fun running the combo. Wow,I posted something positive.I think Jack is having heart palpitations.:>):>):>) |
Re: combo class
Bravo Ed!
Doesn't that feel good? |

I also agree with Dave - no plastic here and in most cases racers are proud they've earned something rather than just taking a single for it .............. |
