Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
How many of you would be interested in a 6-8 combo race series for the 2012 race season?
Races would take place in the Northwest around the NHRA/IHRA schedule; membership would be required for full payout and series would have an end of year payout structure. Races would be doubleheaders so once you are at track, you have two chances i.e. Saturday & Sunday. Series would have it's own tech official familiar with both NHRA and IHRA rules. NHRA and IHRA classes accepted including crate motors $100 yearly membership fee $40 associate member fee $100 entry per race or $200 for the doubleheader weekend. No heads up races for similar classed cars. Dial in only so as to keep an even playing field and entice ALL racers to attend races. I have some funding in place but would be open to ideas, suggestions and offers from the group. Your feedback is appreciated and timing is key to assembling a series of this nature for the 2012 season. Mike |

Sounds great! What area are you considering? Hopefully you'd get more racers showing up than some of the similar attempts in the past. Like the poor national open series...

I would be interested depending on what tracks you would run them at. Sounds like a great plan.

Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Mark and Dave,
We will go wherever the tracks want our show and I stress "show." Obviously, I have some homework to do with pre-race promotion and track negotiations but I know the group can assist in that effort. I would like to see Mission, Seattle, Spokane, Billings, Edmonton, Medicine Hat and possibly SIR in Sakatchewan. Woodburn would be great also but I don't want to alienate any track operator who would be interested in the show. I realize we will not be successful in running at all of these tracks but it's a pool to start from. Forgot Firebird in Boise. You guys and gals will be the stars in this effort and your feedback will build this series. Mike |

Div 5 racers, I meant no disrespect but if you have a racetrack in mind, please let me know.
Just realized most of the tracks we discussed are all Div 6 racetracks. Mike |

well put my hat in the ring ,me loves running the wheels off the chevelle. The double header format is awesome as those that participated in the proam series have found out.

Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Mike, now I wish even more that I lived in Div.6, but I still live in Div. 7 country. :(
However, if you talked with Ron Craft at Rocky Mountain Raceway, I'm sure he'd be interested in your idea, because he's definitely trying to get a greater Stock/Super Stock pressence at his track in Salt Lake City, Utah? How about that...furthermore, I wish you Arizona could possibly be included in your states of interest, since we have three drag strips here, that could be interested in your offerings...I'm not sure about Firebird International Raceway, but Speedworld Motorplex, and Southwestern International Raceway probably would be? |
Re: Attention Division 5 & 6 Stock/Super Stock Racers
Count me in for a few races also.
