Don Bales
 

Wanted to give a shout out to Don Bales (of Silver Bullet Hemi fame) and his lovely lady friend who cooked some simply outstanding fried chicken and offered a cooler full of beer for all to enjoy and made sure everyone was having a good time. And he didn't even bring his beautiful Hemi car to Indy this year! Thank you, Don!

This is what drag racing is all about! Not all this nonsense about whose car is under-factored, or which cars are bogus, or who had what letter from Carroll Shelby, or whatever the hot topic of the day is to complain about!

Nice to see a thread like this. Really makes me wish I made the trek to Indy this year. A big thumbs up to Don and the Silver Bullet gang!

Hell yeah. Don and his family are a great group of people. Always providing great hospitality to any, and everyone is always welcome. I was joking with him yesterday that I'm not eating as good this year, as last year I pitted with him and they cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. I ate better at the track last year than I do during the year. :)

Oh , and I failed to mention Don is very personable, saw him in the staging lanes for the Hemi shootout this morning,making sure the participants (who I am sure are all his friends) enjoyed the moment!!
