Re: Hunt Sharron
You gotta be friggin' kidding me. When I saw the topic I was sure it was another typical "so and so, you have a pm". I wouldn't have even opened it if it wasn't for a couple replies.
I didn't know Hunt all that well, but I knew him enough to think he was a really nice guy, and a real happy *** sort. He would always come say hi at every race. I don't even know if he was married, had kids, whatever, but it sure is depressing. He was a real good dude, and maybe I'm not a good guesser, but he couldn't have been more than early 50's, right? WTF...I just read Beth's post about Drooze, and maybe I need to do the same thing, re-evaluate. I guess leaving Rochester this am, flying to KC, driving to Indy, being parked out in the field, and setting the alarm for 5:30 so I can go out and fix a broken race car and be ready to park, tech, and run by 8:30 really isn't the end of the world. I'm really getting sick of people exiting way too young...my thoughts and prayers are there for his family, friends, and his soul. Godspeed Bro... |
Re: Hunt Sharron
I never met Hunt, but saw his race car at a car show in Greensboro, NC a few years ago and was so impressed by it that I was motivated to get back into drag racing after being away for several years. A beautiful car.

Re: Hunt Sharron
Hunt use to come by AED when i worked there at the speed shop as he was a rep for different companies. Got to know him alittle during that time but never knew he was ill or anything. Very good dude as Dan said, and way to young to have passed. RIP Hunt...

Re: Hunt Sharron
I met Hunt at an Indy PRI Show some years ago, and had talked to him on the phone a few times previous to that....
He was always a gentleman, and a great pleasure to visit with. God bless you Hunt. |
Re: Hunt Sharron
I had heard a while back Hunt was having health issues. I was wondering how he was doing just yesterday, really strange. Great guy who loved super stock racing and did well on a limited budget. My condolences to his family!

Re: Hunt Sharron
I never met Hunt but remember seeing him at G-Ville a few times with his Camaro...always a contender and a familiar name to me through the years. I'm with Fletcher on this....they're going too early, and is heart breaking when they go. Everyone here is an inspiration one way or another (i.e. Drooze, etc). Dan, you've been a long time racing inspiration for me, but your view on life is perhaps even bigger.
R.I.P. Hunt....we will all miss you:( |
Re: Hunt Sharron
So sad to hear this. We first met Hunt when he joined our Jackson Drag Strip Bracket Finals Team at Bristol around 1984. Always a pleasure to be around.
