This Friday night under the lights the top Cobra Jet qualifier will go heads-up with current Super Stock Hemi record holder Charlie Westcott Jr. Best two out of three runs will determine the overall champion! old vs. new, ya right..........maybe in vehicle (outside) appearance only..................I'd venture a guess that Wescott's got newer stuff in his old tired Hemi than the Mustang's got. My money's on Westcott unless someone "puts" a little something in his back pocket before the show starts.

My first thought exactly on the "Back Pocket" issue since it's a Ford race, but then again I thought, "its Charlie". I don't think he would give up a win for a few $$$. He is a hard competitor.

OK I'll be the one to ask. Are the CJ's and Hemi supposed to be in "legal" (or near legal) NHRA SS trim? Since the "rules" for the event specify "running modified NHRA Stock and Super Stock rules" I wonder how "modified" the front runners will be. I guess we'll know the answer pretty soon but what is the Blaine Ramey "exhibition" entry capable of? At any rate you have to give the promoters kudos for the interest this event has generated and to the racers for participating. Can't wait for the video.
