Thanks for the footage Joe. I was living in Ohio at that time and went to Bowling Green (had the flu, but went anyway) Spent some time with Joe Dill at the scales where I first met Jerry Stein. Had a great time, glad I went. I even have some pictures from that race around here somewhere. Thanks again, Craig. Stk 3201

I had to watch the Modified Eliminator video about 4 times.
Theres something about the sound if a '70's era modified motor that just gets in you,and you cant get enough!! 2-3 dry hops, ya gotta love it. |

Great video! I bought the tape from Diamond P Sports some 20 years ago but haven't seen it recently...Time for a re-run!

I also love the dry hops and always did at least one with my Camaro..
and I like the clip of Jim Boburka's Camaro with a 4 speed..... his car and Rod Saboury's.....both SS/J............ |

"BACK IN THE DAY"..........
When i started racing my roadster i told everybody i just would of loved to do everything behind the line and jumped out and let somebody else drive it down the track as i would come out of the water and at least give it 2 trans break dry hops and that baby reached for the sky and no wonder i was laughing when i left the line every run with that car |

Well, you never know what you might find in one of these old threads.
At about the 3:17 point of the 4th video, there is a '71 GTO Stocker, running in the semi-final. It leaves too soon. But, I noticed on the front fender that it was a nat record holder from '73 thru '77. Well, I recognized the car immediately. It is the car that Mick Leiferman drove to 3 consecutive Stock RU's, at Indy, in '75-'77. In '77, he lost the All-Pontiac final to Mike McKinney, driving the former Truman Fields '68 Bird, which had also won Indy in '73. Hey, never thought I'd see that car make a pass. http://www.competitionplus.com/compe...portsnationals |
