Live from Joliet, IL, Division 3 points race!
 

Well we left yesterday and are now in Middlebury, IN at NRC getting a few things fixed on our motorhome. It is 8 years old and we had a little leak in the roof when we were in Bowling Green a couple of weeks ago. It seems it was coming in around the vents in the bathroom where the water from the air conditioner was running in. So now they are fixing that plus a little leak around the skylight. Owning a motorhome is just like owning another house. Every now and then you just have to do maintenance on them. I have to say the people here are very accomodating. We had an appointment at 6 am and they got right on it. I would certainly recommend NRC to anyone. It seems United Specialties are now out of business ( I think) and they even have some of their homes in here being worked on.

So now for the weather. It has been raining here (about 140 miles east of Joliet) since about 3 this morning. Looks like we are going to get rain in Joliet today and tomorrow. Looks like things will start to clear out and be nice by Saturday. At least it is a whole lot cooler. It is about 69 now. Looks like 70's Friday and Saturday and maybe 80 by Sunday.

We should be finished up here by lunch, and then on 2 hours to the track. I will post again when we get there.

As we were moving along very well along I-80, I made the mistake of saying "This has been almost painless". Then we got stopped at about exit 137 and we want off at 132. It gets down to 1 lane and the left lane is closed. More when we get there.

Patsy & Larry - Boy am I glad you guys are back "Live" - no kidding - I really need to get the heat off me and onto anybody else ..............good luck this weekend !

PS- Make sure you get paid 2011 wages from Kenny - none of that 2010 stuff ! ! ! And watch your backs - you saw what happened to me when I took a short "nap" last weekend ...............

Well, we are finally here in line. Looks like everybody got here at the same time! You need to follow the signs for competitors. It brings you in on Schweitzer Road, then snakes thru the parking lot for the Speedway, then back across Schweitzer Road and into the back of the track. It looks very wet here. They are really slow in getting everyone parked. I hope they are not already out of pavement. We made the mistake of turning down Larraway 1st and had to turn around. Just follow the competitors signs.

Looks like we won't get teched tonight. It is 4:45 and I doubt if we will be parked by 6. Sure wish we hadn't lost that hour in traffic going 5 miles.

It is beer ( and wine) :30. Sure wish we were parked!!

This is a nice view of what to expect on I-80 East around exit 127. I would go south to Rte 6 if you are heading East on 80. My brother Joe took this on the way out today.

Well, we are in and parked. All the pavement is gone, buy there was some grassy areas up by the fence that Keith Lynch led us to, so we have a good spot now. Larry just barreled thru the wet and muddy and we are hoping it dries out by the time we get ready to leave. Mike Fuller parked here, too, so we are ready to party. Tonya Lynch and I have been drinking "Sex on the Beach"! Boy are they good! Janice Fuller had a Bloody Mary. Tomorrow hopefully we won't be as tired and we can party longer.

Larry wanted to let ya'll know if you are looking for a truck-type motorhome that NRC is the way to go. We got great service up there today and we highly recommend them. Jerry made sure everything got done that we needed. Thanks, guys!

The weather still isn't looking too good for tomorrow. Looks like we will have rain, but at least it is cool. Only in the 60's tonight.

We didn't get teched yet, but they open at 7 and we don't run til 9 (weather permitting). Actually super street is out 1st, then stock.

Dog Lover-let me know who you want pics of and I will try to get them tomorrow.

Jack, you mean Kenny isn't giving us a raise this year? Thanks for the good luck wishes. I just so thankful to just be here and having fun!
