Stanfield in a D/SA
Two different outings at Thunder Road Raceway [Red River] Greg had his Son one night and his Daughter another night. His Son went to the final in the no e bracket race, first time out with Son and car! The second night he coached his Daughter in burn out lessons. After about 7 attempts she was zinging it right up there like an experienced racer.
It is a generation 4 Camaro, black with black wheels but I did not get a look under the hood. Sounds like Greg is grooming two stocker drivers. I expect Greg is an excellent teacher! |
Re: Stanfield in a D/SA
I can remember getting a few lessons from Greg back in his super stock days.

Re: Stanfield in a D/SA
Greg, Howard [his Dad] and I traded licks regularly in the old Hallsville days. Howard had a Chevelle station wagon stocker and later Greg had the Camaro SSer. Lot's of good memories for those days. Greg is a good guy, hard worker and talented racer.

And that Camaro has been known to go rounds in the past, in it's history that car has won class @ Indy AND a national event....... with different drivers.
In a division loaded with talent, here come 2 more....... yikes! Unk |
Re: Stanfield in a D/SA
As many hours it takes to run a competitive NHRA Pro Stock car, I don't see how he has time. The man must be a machine!

Re: Stanfield in a D/SA
Greg is a true professional with his family first!

Re: Stanfield in a D/SA
This week my buddy Phil Jones came in the shop and said Greg was at Prescott trying out the D/SA Camaro. Said he was pitted right beside Phil's son and nephew.
And as a kid Greg played in the pits while his Dad kicked butt back in the old days at Whitehouse. I remember looking out of the tower at him sitting on the tailgate of Howards Surburban while Howard made a pass. Little did I know I would see Greg passing on the family tradition to his kids. |
