Indy Stock/SuperStock combo
Well I tried to get some info, but cant. However there is definitely a s/ss combo this weekend at Indy. I will try to get more info, but they are going for 128 car field for $6000 guaranteed purse Testing on Friday.
I tried to get a heads up session with the track manager last year and he decided to do this. We will see how it goes. My idea was instead of 3 days of practice to run one day as a heads up against same class followed by heads up against your index. http://www.lucasoilraceway.com/apcm/...4897&zoneid=95 |
Re: Indy Stock/SuperStock combo
Hey Lynn,
The answers ARE in the link you posted. Go to pararaph 5 where is says " to read more about the event, click HERE." Friday test and tune, Race 1 on Sat., Race 2 on Sun. Payout info listed by rounds and car counts. This is not just a Stock/Super Stock Combo race, they are also having a Top Dragster race and U.M.T.R. races also. I would like to be there but I have a trailer with no brakes, and no car ready to roll. I hope this weekend is successful for all. Talk to ya soon, John |
Re: Indy Stock/SuperStock combo
I have been lobbying for a few years to get Racers or NHRA to do a heads up instead of 3 days of practice. There is going to be a drivers meeting before we run on Sat for this inaugural event. We are looking at doing something heads up, but of course we all know NHRA has at least 3-4 times more classes than we really need so it makes it almost impossible. I have suggested heads up against your index like we ran at US Class Nationals, but maybe next year set it up to be 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 12.0. Just 6 classes then for a single champion heads up against your index. What say you?

Re: Indy Stock/SuperStock combo
The track manager seems to be all fired up about S and SS and that include the possibility of some heads up.

Re: Indy Stock/SuperStock combo
Anyone coming? We are testing tonight between 5PM to 10PM. Ought to be fast! Talk to Kurt the track manager he is excited about S/SS. I think Pinks has rejuvenated the heads up deal, but I really dont understand it. Kurt came from having involvement in heads up racing. I think maybe NHRA is exploring possibilities? I really dont know why we want to waste our time for 3 days running practice. We ought to have more fun?
