Re: Does this bring back memories at the Gator's
It proves the tech people who let the Ford out west run knew the rules and the one's in Gainesville need to brush up on them.Too bad Kenny (or anyone else) had to be a victim
of their failure to comprehend what's in the book. It's so easy a caveman can undestand it. |
Re: Does this bring back memories at the Gator's
I would take that to mean his next race. He was already entered in that one. Sounds like he was not treated correctly. Think the tech man had not see how that was worded? Or Mis-read it?

Next event=Next race. Pretty black and white I think.

Re: Does this bring back memories at the Gator's
He should have been told to have it out of there next race. To have to change it there was not right.

Re: Does this bring back memories at the Gator's
Here is the last part of the notice from the NHRA announcement on 6 April 2011 -
"must bring their vehicle into full compliance with NHRA rules and regulations prior to their next event." Here's the same section from the referenced blog - "must bring their vehicle into full compliance with NHRA rules and regulations; prior to their next event." Notice the semi-colon? Do these two paragraphs mean the same thing? So if they find a aluminum center-section, you have to remove it before you are allowed to race again OR you can't race again until you remove it? The existing rule was interpreted one way, and the "book" was changed to reflect that interpretation. Clear as mud to me!! Lew (Still scratching my head!) |

There was nothing in the rule book that specifically said "no aluminum center sections" until AFTER the Gatornationals. All it said was that the replacement must be from the same manufacturer and no truck rear ends allowed. Are the aluminum center-sections we're taking about OE replacement's or after-market? If the tech committee says no aluminum, fine. Publish a rules change in National Dragster or the website, and give the effected racer's a chance to make the change. Don't make an arbitrary change at one race and not at another. And not that it matters, but didn't Olds have an aluminum center-section as an option in the W33 Cutlass? Lew |
