Cobra Jet Comment

Just finished reading an article on the cobra Jet, the Ford person being interviewed was talking about the writing under the hood and said: "The special Mustang notation on the underside of the glass hood means nothing.....except that Ford snuck the Jets past NHRA'S factoring system" seems like an understatement, by the way I might mention this article is in the April 1968 hot rod magazine. Some things just never change

I was in the first pair down the track in the first qualifying session at Ennis (Ken Howell and I usually are) and I got back to the motorhome in time to hear Unk announce "He's on the brakes at 1000'! Well he is also #1 qualifier." (New CJ) That was just before Jeff Colvert bumped him to #2. Both CJs. One new, one old. Big difference is Jeff runs his hard like a real racer.

X 2.....LOL.Is this what stock and S/S eliminator has come to. What a joke.....no wonder the average spectators dont have an interest in the sportsman class cars anymore. Kudos to Jeff Colvert for running his car like a real racer. .

They say the spectators don't like throttle-stop racing (90's classes )...,, guess what stock is now like throttle - stop racing except they are doing it on top end,,,,,,imagine that !!!!!
at least leave the brake lights hooked up so the spectators know they are hitting the brakes,,,,,lol...lol...lol...

I am a spectator and love s/ss racing and comp too. Can't really enjoy throttle stop racing just no fun its all the same. Look we all know the new cars are underfactored but it is nice to see them and the factories interested. Its NHRA's job to do what is best for the new cars and the older cars to make class racing better and giving fans like me more of what we want.

I like to watch them also and do enjoy the newer cars, however i would still like to see them run flat out.
I have a pretty good idea how fast the majority of them can run and right now they ain't even close to being flat out....
Good thing i don't own one (would if i could afford one) cause the world would really know just how fast mine could run and that is a promise.....

**Let's have an amnesty day and everyone run fast as you can and you will not be punished , unless your mph does not match up to your et....

I like Danny's idea, a run that doesn't count against your hp combo, say like a national record run. Runs could be done apart from qualifying like in the morning when the air is good and would not count for qualifying.

Isn't that called "Test & Tune"?
