Yes the 2008 Mustang is still in Stock.

I spoke with Bruce Bachelder and he said currently there is no point where any car listed eligible for Stock would be banned due to factoring below the 7.50 wt break for AA. He did say that when one does reach 500 lbs needing to be added to make AA, NHRA may take another look at the rules.

While there are no current plans on the table to add 7.00 or lower classes to Stock, NHRA is looking at several options for the 2012 season as to what to do with the faster upper class Stockers. However he would not elaborate on the subject any further.

In division 1 the 2011 season just got under way and I'm not having any fun yet and I'm not quitting, I just might need a change!!! We met in INDY a few years ago in tech and while you were going over my car, I could tell that something might be wrong, and when you asked me what's this? I didn't know what you meant, and I asked WHAT, and you said this GTX, and I said I don't know. Maybe I should have gave up right then and there, but I said GOOD TILL XMAS, well if I had a camera to shoot the look I got back, but the car was all good and I guess the answer worked cause I passed, just wondering if I told you that it was a FORD if things could have been different, should have built/bought a FORD. We all had a good laugh and that's what it's all about.

Frank, When I tech a GTX I usually ask the driver if it is a GTX or if it is a Road Runner with GTX emblems. A GTX has a natural class different than a Road Runner.

The first year I was a techman back in 1969, I teched a new Road Runner that had a 440/375. The guy swore it was a 383 and was factory original. The engine was even painted the 383 color. I disagreed and proved it was a 440. Just so he could race I classed the car as a GTX. Later I found out the guy paid the dealer extra to have the 440 put in after he blew up the 383 under warranty.

I learned about B blocks and RB blocks early on. I even tried to teach my fellow techmen the difference but somehow it doesn't seem to matter anymore.

You are right!!! The R/R is a natural A, and the GTX is a natural B, with the sixpack. THAT'S WHY YOU ARE IN CHARGE, And I thought we were having a QUIZ!!! YOU GOTTA LOVE THEM TECH GUYS OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.

Just read Burk's Blast on Dragracing on line.
That may be your new idea for next season.
He says no stockers older than 15 years and the rest go in comp......
How will that work out for you ?
