Bobby Warren not at 4 wide!

I just called Jeff Warren and asked about Bobby not being there, Jeff said Bobby is well and in fact he is working some at the shop. Seems like Bobby may have let the time slip up on him, but he is doing good health wise. Jeff said he had some calls already about Bobby not being there, so here is to let everyone know, Bobby Warren is well!;)

Thanks for the info, Woodro! This is unheard of, for Bobby not to be at a national meet!!! But then, he IS getting a little older, as are many of us!!! Glad to hear he is okay!;)

Yea tell me about it and to think we use to eat, sleep and breath drag racing, i have had 46 years of it, and i think my Body is telling it now. I know Bobby like all of us, love the sport, but age does take it's toll!

Woodro....Its because of guys like you and Bobby that made drag racing great. May you have many more years of doing what you love.

I'll second X-TECH MAN. Totally agree. I hope there is another generation to follow somehow.

Had just been looking at the list this afternoon and was interested if Bobby was okay. I understand time sneeking up on you. I have been into drag racing since 1961and this week I have realized how much more time it takes to get things done, but I still enjoy it as much as ever.

Woodrow---Don't park that thing yet I still owe you one :-) I think Bobby and all of us that I like to refer to as "senior racers" still love to race just as much as we always have and I guarantee Bobby can still give anybody a good schoolin. What wears me out is all the work associated with getting ready for the races. We used to throw the car on the trailer stop by the Piggly Wiggly for Ice and sodas then pull up to the Sunoco pump and put in 5 gallons of 280. We could race three times a weekend and still have time to cut the grass. Compare that to packing up a box trailer and motor home to go somewhere for 3 to 5 days. It's hard for a young man much less one in his sixtys or seventys. First time down the track for me was April 1961 Old Dominion Dragway Manassass Va. and still have the fire. Can't believe that was 50 years ago.------Danny

Dan, I completely agree... it used to take me about 40 minutes to clean the car, throw my "bracket kit" in the trunk with some slicks, and go racing.... come back the same night... now it's at least an entire afternoon/evening loading everything up and checking the checklists to leave the next day, and takes 40 minutes or more to get unloaded and set up the pit area when we arrive. The races are 2-6 days long now. Part of that is because I'm now Class Racing, but it still takes most of the same amount of time when we set up for bracket racing on the weekend. It's tougher to get the time you need for the Sport because of all the "infrastructure" we need to bring with us nowadays.....
