F-Body Hood Question
2 Attachment(s)
My project is a 96 Formula that I think is a B or c car. When i bought the vehicle it had a non functional ram air aftermarket hood. I know the rule book says stock hood but I was hoping it would work. I have a feeling i need to find a stock hood but i wanted to confirm with you experienced racers. Thanks for any help.

Re: F-Body Hood Question
I would say go for the stock one. If tech wants to get picky they could spot an aftermarket hood. Since it is non functional ram air I would say that would be easy to catch.

Re: F-Body Hood Question
If it did not have the logo on the underside.....you'd probably get by but it's clearly not legal. You'd likely get tagged for it pretty quickly....
I had a Firebrid with the Stock RA hood that looked similar. I think your scoops are taller...... Don't think it is a natural D car.......The Formulas had a very light shipping weight in the book if I recall right......I ran A/FIA with a '97. I was about 200lbs heavy for the A minimum weight.........and my car with me in it was probably pretty light.....I think my car could run B/SA or C/SA by todays rules.......not sure.... |
