How does a 86-89 mustang run in a stock elimniator class like L/S??? does this car not have to run in a FIA class?????? I am confused

Where did you see this? If it was at a Fun Ford race or NSCA or similar type race, it could have been Limited Street? Just a guess.

It was posted in a divisional race last year.Ichecked several times on the same car and it came up as L/S .At first i thought it was a misprint and maybe it is ,but i thought all cars that came stock with injection had to run in the FIA class

A 1985 is the last Mustang that had a carb. I believe that car can run L/S. The 86 and up all run the FI classes.
The 85 looks identical to an 86. The 86 has the thrid brake light in the deck lid. That is the only external difference I can remember.

It would be hard to confuse an 85 or 86 from an 87-89 since they changed from the four inset headlights to the aero single deal.
