Double entry of same car at Bradenton?
Looks like several racers double entered their Stockers in one of the 3 Unleashed classes, also some .90 folks based on car description and ET. Recognize the track operator needs to make $, tracks losing $ to host races helps NOBODY but thought there was a rule against double entry of the same car in "NHRA classes". I don't fault the racers or the track but this would imply that the Unleashed classes are no different than bracket classes that might be held in conjunction with a National Open. Or would this mean the same car could be entered in Stock and Super/Stock?
Just wondering.... |

Re: Double entry of same car at Bradenton?
Jim,
I think this is just the beginning of the big slow-down for Dragracing ... Local tracks will start doing much better this year than in past years ... All costs are up ; gas, fees, hotels, food, etc. & payouts are down ... Plus you can't spend what you don't have, for very long ? I thing this could be good for Racing in the long run, spend less traveling and better payout's for local races ... Also send a message to big Brother , that we have other choices ... Time will tell ..... So, yes I think you will start see all kinds of different options to bring in $$$$$ ..... |
Re: Double entry of same car at Bradenton?
Jim, I wondered about that also. I know Brien Radley was running his Camaro in stock and his bracket Barracuda in 11.0. Also Merrill Schrimscher was running stock and one of the Unleashed classes with 2 different cars (both Camaros). There were others though that was quite obvious they were running the same car in the traditional Lucas Oil classes and the Unleashed classes.
Just the dumbing down of the NHRA Lucas Oil series as we knew it. How sad. :( |
Re: Double entry of same car at Bradenton?
Joe, they have been dumbing it down ever since they went to bogus soft indexes instead of national records.

After 25 years, and all kinds of "gimmies" they are only .23 quicker. In 1980 the index for B/SA was 11.52 If you look at the pic of our car in the gallery, You see 11.35 on the window. That was what the car would run. In decent air |
