Class on the rainy weekends
How in the heii are they going to determine class winner when they get a bunch of rain delays or oil downs?
Fastest car gets the most points? Then they can cancel the final rounds if they are running late and award the win to the higher qualifier. PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Class on the rainy weekends
Art, chill. There is nothing all this complaining will fix. If enough guys quit showing up they may change. None of this drama is going to fix anything. It looks like they are trying to make it affordable enough, by cutting back on classes & races they have to pay, to maybe attract some companies back.

When Larry Hill (one of the few with a legit beef) commented about the DP's and the CJ's Everyone rallied around him, most of those people had no dog in the hunt. Now the shoe is on someone else's foot. Or do you "really" believe cutting classes is good. Till they cut yours? |
Re: Class on the rainy weekends
Usually 4 to 8 cars in my class at national events Art. And there is a DP and a new Mustang there this year. I have heads up in eliminations too. SS/JA is a very popular class.

Ed you chose to run that class, So far there weren't any CJ's or DP's in your class except for stockers turned superstockers for a day. When they combined the FWD classes nobody noticed that about 8 or 9 cars quit racing. Steve Polhill who has been racing for years is ready to quit due to the enhancements of five pounds per hp class seperations. |
Re: Class on the rainy weekends
Art, you are mistaken. Lloyd Wolford will have his new DP out, right here in Div 4, this summer. Built for SS. There is already a nine second new Mustang running SS/JA.
Do you think 6 or 8 (high estimate) fewer cars will hurt their bottom line worse that loosing several sponsors? Remember they (NHRA) get the uncollected contingency money at the end of the year. They are running a business, same as the mfgrs paying the contingency money. Times are tough for businesses right now. They aren't out to hurt Art Long. |
Re: Class on the rainy weekends
Art sale the car ,buy a new boat, its just as much fun and you can fish in the rain.

And I can probably tell you next years enhancement. Class runs only at the 4 races. They can save more tropies that way. You do realize this will ultimately help me. Because of supply and demand my trophies will be worth more on ebay. |
