In search of a previous owner...64 Chevy II Nova SS
Hello everyone,
I apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to post this. It looks like the most high traffic area of this site so it seemed appropriate. Anyway, last week I became the proud owner of 64 Nova SS. I purchased the car in Lindsay Oklahoma but the guy that sold it had not raced the car. He said he purchased it from someone in OK who needed the money. The motor was built by someone in Duncan, OK. The car looks very well taken care of and has several "old school" NHRA/IHRA stickers on it from the 80's, specifically, the '87 Chief Autoparts Nationals, and '88 Texas Nationals. Also, the car has some old fashioned M/T valve covers and cut/rolled fenders in the rear for that old Gasser look. Anyway, I just wanted to know more about the car and to let the PO know this car will be well taken care of. Here go a few pictures: http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...R1/Nova_SS.jpg http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/.../Nova_Side.jpg http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...10115-1516.jpg http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...aine/Motor.jpg http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/...e_Interior.jpg Thanks for reading :) |
Re: In search of a previous owner...64 Chevy II Nova SS
My brother had a car like it in the early 70's. It was burgundy in color with a black interior.Once while he was street racing he blew apart a pressure plate and parts of it came through the floorboard on the drivers side. Does your car have any evidence of something like this? He ended up selling the car to some guys who cut and shaped the rear wheel wells like your car.Could this be the same car? I've often wondered what happened to that car as we sure worked on it a lot back then.

You can post the pics and thread on www.stevesnovasite.com and www.novas.net.
These guys are a wealth of knowledge, live and breathe novas and Chevy II's. Hope this helps. |

Hi Bill,
I took a look and didn't see any evidence of a broken/repaired floorboard. Also, the car looks like the original paint was white. Hope you find out what happened to your brother's car one day! :) |
