Jack Matyas-GTO question for you

Was just wondering what you have done to the rear in your car to keep it from spitting pieces out. I have an '04 and the trans/rear setup seem to be a little weak.

Thanks!
Dennis

i believe it's got a 12 bolt strait axle in it. it's no longer an independent susp. but i'm sure jack will respond soon.

Dennis - Be glad to help you out - give me a call .And Tommy (Tom Goldman @GAS Racing - Allentown , PA ) is right - he'd be very happy and capable to built a rear for you that won't break into a million pieces .The unit in my GTO now has several seasons on it without exploding ..................

Thanks for the replies all. I was just wondering what you had done. Mine is just a street car for now, and I am always amazed when I look under it at how many freaking pieces those silly Aussies used to connect the trans to the rear end and what a crap suspension is under there for a supposed performance car.

I'd love to make this thing into a stocker, but I'm sure that if I told the wife I was starting another race car project some pieces of me would not survive. lol!

'04 is a natural E car, correct? How competitive can one be against the endless flood of 340 cars?
