New SS class
 

I'm new to class racer. I was wondering if any body has even noticed that there is a new SS class coming and it will have VW bug, for a base car the car is going to be SS/VX, Has any one any thought on this..

I, for one, am all for seeing different cars competing in S/S, as long as they are given fair hp ratings and/or indexes. I believe the 11.60 index given to SS/VX is fair.
I think it will be cool (I think the fans will enjoy it also) to see a VW matched up against the V8's.
Should be interesting to see how an air cooled motor fairs having to drive up to the staging lanes and back to the pits.
I say bring it on. It will be some good fun for racers and fans alike.

Bret thanks for you reply. One thing I know how hard it is to win even one run in SS but do not dismiss the VW racers. Some of them are not new to NHRA and some raced when VW raced in the Gas class..

Thereis a lot of experience in there ranks....

I think Joe Aragona specialized in VW motors for a while-I wonder if anyone will go to him for a SS motor.
