OT Beware of ThinkPoint
It is a Trojan virus complete with Microsoft Logo. It has been around for a short period of time but caused a lot of problems. It managed to sneak around the McAfee firewall and infect the computer at work. We had to bounce the McAfee and use a new version of Norton to finally get rid of it. There are other fixes. Google remove ThinkPoint.

Re: OT Beware of ThinkPoint
Just had the same problem on a computer at work.
they do have a Microsoft logo on it ,so it looks legit at first glance. It got around Norton on this PC, but it looks like the virus definitions had'nt been updated in about a month. The more you try to get around it's defenses to attempt a removal ,the more embedded it becomes! I had to format the hard drive on this one and reinstall all the software. It appears it was attached to an e-mail from our site from a customer inquiring about a used car,and got around multiple firewalls! Tom |

If you dont stop it early , it evedently disrupts more processes the more times you restart your PC.
this one killed IE access, and the computer would not enter Safe Mode . I have removed previous versions of this malware, but now this version with the Microsoft logo seems to be more malicious. . |
Re: OT Beware of ThinkPoint
Is this Win XP or 7?
Heard of another one that is bad. Don't open e-mail if "HERE YOU HAVE IT" is in the subject line. |
Re: OT Beware of ThinkPoint
I had the same problem over the weekend and it would not let me get online so I reset my computer to an earlier date and got rid of it.
