Re: F.A.S.T. Racers break into the nines
When these guys were in the 11s it was awsome, now look.I would imagine they have to have role bars now? They let them in the 10.98s without but I think this must have changed. These cars are near perfect condition cars so I would imagine cutting holes for a bar must have been painful.I really liked the Buick of Greg Gessler and a 71 Vette that did well.Nice to see stockers run fast.

Getting them to hook seems unlikely but look at that '71 Mustang with air under the right front tire! Unbelievable.
Imagine what nothing but a set of headers and slicks would do? But I like the concept of pure stock appearance and the ingenuity of these guys. |
Re: F.A.S.T. Racers break into the nines
you think our stocker stuff cost a ton,,,these things are the definition of money pit, remember the words factory "apearing" stock not to let the cat out of the bag but,the engines have the biggest stoke and bore that the block can physicaly fit,,head work huge valves ,nothing stock about the internals ,, the use of traction control fixes that issue of traction ,they are suppost to go by the nhra rules according how fast the car runs,,dont get me wrong cool stuff and the engineering that go's into each of the cars is alot ,,if iam not mistaken but the there is a big block corvette that runs this class and it has close to a 650 ci and it runs low ten's at least rumor has it gmonde

We worked on a set of heads from one of the faster Camaros in this class. They are super stock engines with more cubic inches. 750 HP and more. And you can put as much weight in the trunk as you want. Now, you know how they go so fast. Add 400-500 lbs in your trunk and you'll hook up on 7.35 x 14" tires.
You think a Stocker or Super Stock engine is expensive, try getting a quote to build one of these. Off the charts! Jerry |
