Another "Little Bird" told me that these "Ringers" that everyone is complaining about will have their own class for 2011.

Is that the one originally rated at 275? The new Camaro SS is rated at 427 hp, which is pretty honest since they make 360/370 at the tires, bone stock with factory tuning. Take away 15% which is close for a manual trans car and that puts you pretty close.
Compare the specs of the two, and it should make at LEAST what the new Camaro does.

Super Stock factor is still 275. One from Louisiana is being built for SS/JA, and will be able to run 40lbs lighter than mine. I'm not going to waste my time or money trying to run with that mess. I'll leave mine parked until I see how that shakes out. 150+ hp soft is a joke.

No, the 5.9 (360 ci) was originally rated at 275. The 5.7 (345 ci) is a Gen III Hemi and was originally rated at 305.

IMO the 5.9 is a better SS motor at the moment given the parts that are available for it.

Still soft, but this one is rated at 305 for Super Stock. The 5.9 is rated at 275 and is a natural SS/JA car. The 5.7 is a natural SS/IA car that can move down and currently rated at 305 hp.

Terry, this makes the most sense. Why else would these cars all of sudden start letting there %$#%ks hang out!

I hear of a Super Stock 5.9 Magnum DP engine (275 HP factored to 284 HP) that makes 700 HP on the dyno. I was under the impression it was a natural SS/IA class. :( , I didn't bother looking the class up as I won't fret until I have a car again.
