3rd generation Camaro/Firebird steering damper and bump steer
Originally, I planned to order the Ed Quay kits for steering damper and bump steer correction. However, I think the prices are out of line plus he is asking $26.60 freight charges for a 12 pound package. That is simply too much!
Who can supply the bump steering pieces and the steering damper pieces at reasonable pricing? Thanks Larry Woodfin |
Re: 3rd generation Camaro/Firebird steering damper and bump steer
Larry, the damper he sells is off some type of vw if my memory is correct. I tried to track one down for Wayne Shaw years ago and could not find in current cataloging that matched up or any inventory, not sure about the bumpsteer. It might be better off to not waste time and get what works, been there and done that with my new car.

Freight charges usually look pretty bad on small parts. ...I've not found anything that works as well as the Quay damper on Gen 3 cars. ....Time to bite the bullet. ........Tom

Re: 3rd generation Camaro/Firebird steering damper and bump steer
Larry,
I bought one for a 1962-1970 VW beatle. Modified one end and put it on my car. I got it at Bumper to Bumper. My car is on Jack stands and I'll be glad to shoot some pictures of it for you. It was less than $50 and they had it in stock, no freight. |

Apple Tree Engineering 315-483-6412 Rochester NY area Has built many Gen 3 Camaros stock and superstock Super guy to talk to and very helpful. If you're not backhalving the car his rear suspension package is very good. Is the bump steer kit legal on a stocker? |
