Stock playing field-leveler...

I've seen a well-prepped '02 Camaro coupe-- automatic w/transplanted stock LS-7 427 Zo6 motor that runs consistent 9.2's, n/a on a M/T drag radial d.o.t. type tire. This could be a good GM crate-motor stocker combo to get into the guide for A and/or AA stock.....Just maybe could level the playing field a bit in those classes these days for the GM gang....would also be nice to see hot 4.8 and 5.3 LS-type crate motors available for these cars to run lower classes of stock. Anyone else seen one of these LS-7 4th gen '98-'02 transplanted F-body combos around? After all, these cars are 8-10 yrs old now....weigh considerably less than the new Camaros, and they are starting to become quite affordable to buy...OK, bring on the flames....:D WJ

Ed, great idea, but think I would hate to be aiming the aerodynamic nose (?) of that Gremlin thru the traps on top end w/Barton power and mph capability under hood....."pack up the babies and grab the old ladies".... :D Best wishes....WJ

Actually the nose isn't the problem. The slant of the rear glass is prone to shattering at 145MPH and above.Wally Booth found that out first hand years ago.
It's a real help with a tail wind though.
