Jeff Teuton
Jeff I stopped by and took some phone pics of your car yesterday. It is truly beautiful.Funny I love the Duster parked next to it and normally would have been foaming all over the Duster.Im just not used to the Challengers yet. Man there were a lot of nice Barracudas out there also. I forgot who owns the red one.Dialed 8.66 I think Was pitted almost up in middle of the pro pits.

Re: Jeff Teuton
the red 'Cuda belongs to Steve Kent, its is a very nice car, EasTexas Race cars built it a couple of years ago, Steve is a great guy and helps many many racers in various classes including Pro Stock.

Re: Jeff Teuton
Thank you. I am quite proud of my new car in spite of the heat. I think Steve Kent broke a valve in the burnout in eliminations. Steve's car is super nice, and as good as any SS/AH out there. The closer you look, the tricker it gets. The Duster is our old Top Stock car that we have run for about 10 years. It's a pretty good car also.

Re: Jeff Teuton
Hey Jeff!
Long time no see! I was wondering what ever happened to the Top Stock Duster and now I know. Any chance it has an extra pedal in there these days or is it still an auto? Mike |
Re: Jeff Teuton
Mike, it is still an auto. I got a Browell can, 2 new clutches, and never got the Liberty I ordered a few years ago. After 2 years I asked for my deposit back. Interesting you should ask. I might buy a couple of Jerico's from Steve Kent, maybe for the Duster or one of these new Drag Pak cars. Kevin still wants to drive one. Good to hear from you.

Re: Jeff Teuton
Jeff,
Sounds like a really good idea. Shame to have all that stuff layin around and Kev is definitely the right guy to wheel either of the two cars with a stick. Personally I think you should put Kevin in SS/AH with a stick car too! Merc and I are probably going to sneak out here and there with our old Top Stock car back in A/S. I know we won't be much competition to the new combo's out there but what the hell we should still have some fun while we still can. I may even run our GT/A Cavalier some too- you never know! I sold Y's old car to Kjell Gisslar in Sweeden and he is havin' a ball with it. What engine combo is in the Duster? MK |
Re: Jeff Teuton
Mike, it is the old Top Stock motor. After T/STK finished, we got the thing to go 9.50 in the combo we finished in. We took the dome off the piston, got some new Mopar heads (edlebrock knock off), same cam .580 lift, had injector bosses put in the manifold, and the throttle body we needed (1000 cfm) which is the same bores as a 750 holley and went into GT/FA @ about 300 heavier than T/STK. Best so far 9.85 and we are still figuring out the Fast system. Same drive line. Heads are basically the same as we used in T/STK. I took another T/STK motor 360 with R/T iron heads, made it into a 74 Duster motor and we got it in a truck in truck GT. I guess I'm in the recycling business.

Re: Jeff Teuton
Jeff
Just remember, if you have anymore motors to "recycle" I have an empty engine bay. Car is almost ready to go to the body shop. What do you know about the throttle body? Who makes it and is it only available thru Mopar? Can you get another or can we order them thru Barnett/BCI? Thanks |
Re: Jeff Teuton
Mopar has them in stock. P5153702 and the blades have either mopar on them or that M they use. It has been around for a while as part of the kit to efi a 360 magnum. It has an idle issue which we can tell you how to fix.
