Here is another CJ going on the block the first of May

In 1969, 10 different Mustang engine options were available. A special option available for 1969 in the Cobra Jet Mustang included a 428 with internal modifications. Whenever a differential with a gear ratio of 3.91:1 or 4.30:1 was ordered as an "optional axle ratio" at a cost of $6.53, a lot more than just lower gears came with the package. The car automatically became a Super Cobra Jet. This package became notorious in slang as the Drag Pack. Although the Mustang had been completely restyled, little changed in the CJ engine for 1969, and it was still available in any types of Mustangs. The package was also available in the Torino, the Fairlane, and the Mercury Cyclone. All of these cars were having great success racing as well.
Offered here is this incredibly successful 1969 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet drag race car. One of the most well-known and feared drag cars in racing, this car is a Ford 1969 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet with an extensive race history. Driven by famed NHRA and IHRA race champion Matt Morgan, the car amassed multiple records in doth IHRA and NHRA drag divisions many of which still stand today. As the most feared and the most notorious Top Stock race car in modern IHRA history, this Mustang fastback sent corporate sponsored GM Performance Parts Race Teams crying and ruined IHRA Top Stock forever. Known as the only Ford race car to ever win an IHRA Top Stock race, it is the first Top Stock car to record a sub nine second run. It was nicked named the “Camaro Killer” by IHRA writer Michael Beard after winning 14 straight rounds, which included three straight National Event victories. It also won the inaugural U.S. Class Nationals. This car was known everywhere for its eye-popping wheelstands! It is a two-time NHRA Stock class record holder in addition to its IHRA pedigree. There are too many race poles to count. It was undefeated in NHRA Class Competition over its career. Following retirement sometime in 2002, the car was restored to original race condition with original sheet metal and new paint. Included with the car are tons of race documentation and all certificates showing the unblemished and legendary record of championships. This Mustang was also documented on ESPN and countless magazine and drag racing publications.
