Question about Trailers?

Preparing for down the road to get an enclosed trailer.

I will first use it for my 2007 mustang gt but in two years I'm going to be selling the mustang to get a RED.

Would a 8.5x24 enclosed trailer fit my mustang and/or when i get rid of the mustang would it if a RED?

And if not then what is the next bump up that would fit?

Also what would be a recommended pulling vehicle? F250? F150?

F350 with 28' or 30' (you never have to much trailer)

235inch or less dragster will fit in a 24 ft trailer, with no cabinets. Most newer dragsters are all that or longer. As was said, can't have to much trailer, and I would not recommend trying to pull an enclosed trailer with a F150

Yep! Bob's right! the F150 (one half ton) is too light the F250 (3/4 Ton) will be marginal and the F350 (1 ton) will pull it like it's not even back there trust me I have tried to use all of them the only down side of the one ton it they really like fuel!:D

So do you think a F250 or something similar would be able to tow a 24 or 28? This is gonna be all budget racing. So I'll be looking for truck with around $10k I know F350 can be expensive.

Question is would the 24footer fit a 2007 mustang gt?? Yes it would have no cabinets.. I'm thinking a 26footer would be nice but i have a hard time finding 26footers. Here is a photo of the car: http://projectrhyme.com/khracing/Pinks1small.jpg

Now what about GVW?? 7,000 or 10,000?

I'm a little disappointed in you Bob, Sounds like Tweaker is looking for a good quality 1 ton dually to purchase that would tow an enclosed trailer and you know how I've been trying to sell my 95 ext. cab C3500 for far less than what Tweaker is looking to pay. I can't believe you didn't try to help me out :).

Thought about it, then I thought I'd let you take care of it .That way you don't have to buy any beer...:D

Plus with the 150,250 thing I figured he was a Ford kinda guy

I have a case of Miller Lite ready for Indy. I thought of the 150/250 thing, but sometimes you have to settle for what the budget can handle. Thought I'd take a shot.

Re: Question about Trailers?

I have a 28' extra-height trailer (fits one dragster, just reconfigured it so I can get two in there), and tow with a 2500 diesel pickup. Tows great.

If you look at the towing specs for most 3/4 vs. 1 tons you'll see that the 1 ton dually only gets you about 1000 lbs more towing capacity (on a tag trailer). I did a ton of research and ended up with the 2500, and I'm glad I did. If I was towing 5th or goose, I'd be at the 3500 in a heartbeat, but on the tag, the difference is minimal. And the extra set of wheels makes the dually a bear to park/maneuver as a daily driver.

Of course, being a Ford guy, you'll want to convert all that to F250 and/or 350 :)
