EFI Control
I need a good recommendation for my 1990 Mustang 5.0. What kind of EFI computer controlled tuning do stockers use? Accell DFI? FAST EFI? Goin to go build a stocker or maybe a 12 second bracket car, not totally sure yet.

Re: EFI Control
How handy are you ? Budget ? Are you doing tuning and install yourself ?
Do you want batch , full sequential more specifics would be good. Quote:

Re: EFI Control
I run a stock computer in my 5.0 stocker went 12.60 in vegas will be faster back home at see level. Alot of faster mustangs use only the stock computer with just a extender. I am going to move towards that way of an aftermarket system probably the megasquirt stuff after I get rid of the 140,000 mile motor.

Re: EFI Control
Nothing wrong with the a9l ford computer. Extenders are getting hard to find. I use a Tweecer on my 95. Check out. http://tweecer.com/ You can put the $$$$$$$ somewhere else.

Re: EFI Control
I know a couple of ford guys that use the ViPec they are happy with it. You can use sequential or batch fire. waste spark, coil over plug, whatever you want. Plus it's got a built in data logger.
And it's a lot cheaper than most comparible stand alones. |
Re: EFI Control
Either my dad or another professional would be handling the installation. I am very computer savvy so I can learn the ins and outs of the tuning process. Just curious as the what people were using. Was getting the impression that every EFI in stock eliminator was using them.

Re: EFI Control
I run GEN 7 Accel DFI in mine. The Anderson PMS was just approved for another guy, and would probably be the easiest route. If I had to do it over again, the PMS would be in my car!
