Rechargeable Air Compressors

Has anybody had any experience with either of these portable compressors? It looks like they might be better alternative than carrying around a portable air tank.

Sears Craftsman also makes one.
I received one for Christmas 2008.
Seems to work well and is easier to carry over the air tank.
I still carry the air tank in the trailer as a backup and for use in the pits.
My 2 Cents

I have been using CH rechargeable compressors that I bought at WalMart @ $36 each for years. They would last about a season or two and the internal battery would stop charging and I would buy another. I recently got the crazy idea to look on Ebay and found replacement batteries for $14.95 shipped. Now I have four old compressors that are good as new! Jim

Harbor Freight has a very nice 12v compressor for about $25 when it's on sale ......Only about 4" high- 10-12" long ..................I took off the short hose that came with it and attached a 25' 1/4" coil hose........Mounted it in the back of the car with a access door in the floor, just pop the door pull out the hose and hit the switch on the compressor. ....Weighs only about 2# with the hose.....Have'nt worried about the tires in the lanes since!. .........Tom

I have one of the Quarter Max ones that I got last spring thinking it would fit in the glove box of the car and make life easier. BIGGEST POS I have ever owned! Cant speak for the other ones but avoid that one.
