NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
I knew this would not take long. NHRA and IHRA could not possibly continue to see the stands and the pits jambed to capacity without getting on the band wagon. NHRA has an announcement on their site, they have joined with Speed to produce "grass roots, heads up racing". If you've never heard that before you do not watch Pinks All Out."
When the computers all over the country jambed tying to get into Pinks All Out at Z-Max and all 360 spots filled in under 15 minutes, I am sure the NHRA took a long hard look at the interest. Let the fun begin. |

Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
interesting concept BUT the 4 races scheduled are ALL AT NHRA OWNED TRACKS --So apparently nobody else has jumped on the bandwagon according to that press release---leave it to NHRA but in time they can screw up a good thing too!!!! comp 387

Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
The NHRA Unleashed program is, as you stated, all NHRA tracks. The Pinks All Out Schedule this year is NHRA and IHRA tracks. And, as mentioned, I hope NHRA, and there wisdom $$$$, don't mess this up.

Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
since the popularity of Pinks All Out is the side by side heads up racing..... novel idea NHRA - produce a well edited show of Stock/Super STock Class eliminations. Done right it could even promote growth of the category....people build cars just to run Pinks All Out events.
Just gotta figure out a way around the pesky AHFS so people aren't dumping at 1000' on TV |
Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
To the Class Sportsman Racer... You are officially screwed. This new venue- minimum tech support, full seating capacity, bigger payouts , bigger gross receipts and everyone getting the opportunity for their 15 minutes of fame. A Class racers dream. Now why would NHRA need to have S/SS?

Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
I am curious to see the "official" rules and class structure...only because even PINKS is a breakout format, if you go too fast you lose.....that and only 16 compete after qualifying is done and they pick who they want to compete.....
PINKS already has a way to stop the sandbagging...after the first qualifying round they give the competitors a "floating minimum et"...if you can't beat it your done...this is to prevent guys on PINKS from keeping track of the ET'S already run and pooling a bunch of buddies to all run as close as possible to "get in the show" D L Rambo... |
Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
The Pinks thing has a lot going for it. Real cheap admission (ADRL), at No Problem the 450 slots were sold out super early. I asked Pat how much beer did he sell at the Pinks race. He cited something like Obama's Health Care Cost or something as the only measurment large enough. Real Cheap Entry, safety tech only, TV, only problem is sitting around for a day or two and you are more likely to not be in the show than not. Like 450 to 16 in the show. Odds not good cause the bracket is a moving target. And a whole different type of car. The more unusual, the more they might stretch the bracket to get it in. There was another non tv deal called Arm Drop Racing that had several brackets in it, a little better odds to get in.

Re: NHRA and PINKS ALL OUT
Tell me how this relates to S/SS class cars.I have a T/SA car that can run 1.00 under,Joe Schmoe has a T/SA that goes .50 under.I'm bagging at 1,000 ft.That's the reality of NHRA
S/SS now,Pinks cars are all grouped to run within .10-.20.Apples and oranges. NHRA, if allowed, will do to it what the government has/will do to private industry unless stopped by an educated citizenry. |
