To all of my friend and fellow racers,

I am coming to you asking for your support. As some of you may know Jim "The Shoe" Harrington has been hospitalized. Jim is in a tough battle but his spirits are strong. As Jim continues to seek treatment there are uncovered medical bills that are weighing heavy on his wife Tracey. I am asking for your help in lessening the burden on her during this Holiday Season. I will ensure that all contributions will be forwarded to Jim's wife Tracey. I do understand that we are all facing difficult economic times but I encourage you to do anything you can to help a Racer in Need. Jeff Strickland will be creating stickers which will be given to everyone that is able to make a contribution to this recovery fund.

Just to update the situation Shoe has developed pnemonia and was put in intensive care yesterday afternoon. I spoke to him yesterday morning before latest battle & spirits were upbeat. Tracey said he looks ok just problems inside.Please keep Jim in your thoughts & prayers.

Tell her not to pay what the hospital bills her. Find out what most insurance
companies/medicare pays for the same services. They pay a fraction
of what is billed and always bill double or more than they expect to get
so they will get more.

Tell them Merry Christmas from all 'us' racers and will include them
in our prayers;

I just came from the hospital.. The Shoe is some fighter!!!

Spirits are high - but still in intensive care..

One request from the Hospital... Please do not call there. They are getting hundreds of calls, and can not forward a call to his room.. and they can not give a patient's status to anyone over the phone..

The hospital realizes they have a 'celebrity' in their presence.. based on the amount of visitors and phone calls..! ! !

As I was leaving he told me - "Don't worry, I'll be fine", as he winked at me..

How can you not love Jimmy the shoe. The guy is allways happy no matter what. Get better Shoe we need that big smile at the reaces.
