Looking for input
I am looking for opinions and inputs and thoughts about an incident that happend at at a Divisional Race.
A track promoter and a racer had a disagreement based on some comments from the previous night on improvements that could make it easier for racers to find the location. The next day the track promoter threatend to remove the racer from the property if the racer made one more comment or asked him a question. The track promoter cussed the racer out inside the tower in front of 3 racing association officals and nothing was done by the racing body. The facts: racer pays money to attend a race and is threatened. The racer in question never cussed, acted disrespectful or anything, the racer is know to be level headed and liked throughout the community. What should be done about the incident? looking for input Concerned Racer |
I see a lot of people reading, but not making comments.

Most businesses recognize some employees have some behavior issues that show up under stress. They wish they could document them to identify a trend which would render the person a liability and not an asset regardless how "good" they perform at the basic job.
That said the company in this case NHRA depends on signed notes from individuals to place in the employee file. Then if there is a trend developing they can address the issues. Send the info on the incident stating only facts not opinions or color comments to NHRA or Len Imbrogno or .... for their attention. I know they should appreciate the documentation. I think the racer in question should sign it and have a person who witnessed the incident also report it. Dick Butler 3529 |
What should be done for the racer? They were disrespected and called out in front of their peers. This is no way to treat anyone...
I understand filing, but thats all?? |
At best being an adult maybe the racer will accept an apology if offered. Beyond that ..... That would be the best result.

Don't be so thin-skinned, get over it!
If the racer was in the tower and was not called there he was plainly trying to make more of the incident then was called for! Later, Bill Koski |
What if the racer was directed to the tower by personnel to get an answer for the question...
Thin skinned...interesting... |
What question?
Wasn't he the one that was complaining, if he was from the community he should know how to get to the track so it would appear he was trying to create a problem when it did not pertain to him! Later, Bill Koski |
No it was an out of state racer, he was directed to the tower to ask a race question to the track manager... That's when the blow up insued....
