Has anyone heard if Memphis motorsports park is being sold ??
I heard TWO RUMORS tonight.....one is a singer/actor is buying it......
The second is a NASCAR driver is trying to buy it..
I doubt the reality of either one being true........:-(

Singer ,actor from the memphis area? I thought he left the Planet in 77!!!!!!

Its a shame we lost that race in the circuit, I love to go south and that track had a good starting line most of the time. I dont remember spinning there, with all the talk of Vegas and Pomona and the louzy track prep it sounds like we lost a good one.

it was a nice facility too, reminded me of bristol. Maybe IHRA will pick it up with the new owners.

Plus when you go to breakfast in the south they have homemade grits!!:D yum yum!!

The RUMOR I heard was "singer"/"actor" Justin Timberlake
The NASCAR driver was Dale Junior.........
Time will tell what the real story is....

I just got off the phone with one of my techs from there and he said that Justin was his bet also. He said he has wicked dollars and spending it in the area

The Dale Jr. rumor probably stems from his initial involvement in the Alabama Motorsports Park project, as those guys (Gulf Coast Entertainment) were the ones that were trying to secure financing to buy Memphis. Dale Jr. has since dropped out of the Alabama Motorsports Park deal.
