Re: NHRA gold card question??

As long as the gold car is not just a track gold card you are entitled to race without grade points for the year 2010. The entry cost $60.00.

Re: NHRA gold card question??

The $60.00 is for the insurance. Crew members need to pay for their own credentials. We did this for a local racer a few years ago who won the Summit track championship and then the race of champions. We put him in my Chevelle and he drove it at Winternationals ,but we bought our own crew passes.Good luck at Pomona!!

Re: NHRA gold card question??

You are going to need the proper grade points if you want to race in Pomona. I was using a gold card from the D5 ET finals last year and raced S/C with it at Brainerd. NHRA told me that I could use the card for the entry and would have to pay the insurance fee but since the gold card wasn't specifically for Super Comp I needed to get some grade points. The only way you can race without grade points is if your gold card matches the class you are entering.

Not true a gold card for race of champions or the large bracket is a guarantee to enter any eliminator bracket your license is good for. If you have gold card you can enter any time before 1 O'clock on Monday before the race starts, most gold card wait until about that time.

Re: NHRA gold card question??

Colton: I was in your position in 2004, I won the Summit division championship in 2003 and they gave me a gold car. I could use it at any NhRA national event on any catigory with no grade points and if I rememeber correctly, I didn't have to pay a dime and I got 1 crew pass with the entry. The gold card didn't work for division races though, they didn't honor it unless you raced an ET class. I entered Gatornats, Bristol, Atlanta and Indy with the gold car with no grade points and no charge that I can remember.
Congradutions on winning!

Re: NHRA gold card question??

I won the ROC in 2005 and used the gold card at Pomona twice and vegas once without any grade points, I had to pay the insurance though. NHRA says you can only use the gold cards for the class you won it with now though, So can you really use it to run stock if you won it bracket racing? I would call Glendora and ask about signing up.
