Re: what size ?

bryan the heads you use will dictate what weight break you get..the weight break for d/a which allows the use of canted valve heads is 7.50-8.49 lbs per cubic inch, its also the same weight break for e/a but you are only allowed to use the inline valve heads in this class.if you go 330 inches puts you at 2475 for your weight.and automatics get a 225lbs weight break.with the automatic you could build 360 inches.

More info on the car and what you have in mind for a motor and trans would help... 2450lbs could put you into a few different classes depending on cubic inch to weight ratios... and like Scotty says, in a lot of classes you get a weight break for an auto trans which could allow you to have a bigger motor in your choice of class... I actually think I would be looking into C/AA if I had a good tube car...

Just kicking the idea around, I would stay with a glide.

My feeling is that at 2450lbs, you would need a lot of power to run fast with a glide... I'd be looking at 3spd auto, or a much lighter car... if you go through the pits and check out the body cars running automatic transmissions, you won't many, if any, glides... not to say that you can't do it... some of the big power dragsters in Comp may still run a glide in an effort to control the car on the launch, but most of them are also running a 3 spd now...

When you get to that point, give Select a call... Ed Sr and Ed Jr will give you solid advice...
