adjustable rear shocks

Please give me your opinion about single vs. double adjustable rear shocks. Specifically, for the 1990 Firebird I have under construction.

The car will weigh about 2900 with driver, performance will be high 9’s [¼]

It is small block powered, a 408 SBC of about 635 - 645 horse. This is an electronics racer with trans brake, delay box, ladder bars, custom sub frame, full cage, well braced chassis. The tires are M/T 29.5 x 10.5S on 10” wheels.

At this time I am considering the AFCO single adjustable with 5” travel. [this chassis uses coil overs mounted behind the rear axle]

Also, I will use a quality adjustable front strut. [it has OE front suspension]

This is a very nice, well done car. Let me hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Re: adjustable rear shocks

Larry, go double adjustable if you budget will allow. It provides for finer tuning of the rear suspension. I prefer Koni but AFCO is a good product.

Kenny, Your car will benefit greatly from a pair of double adjustable shocks. ......Small tire ,ladder bar cars can be tricky to keep hooked after the initial hit......D. A .shocks will help ......I also like the Koni's for my own car,but I have used AFCO's on several of my customers cars ,and have found them to be a very good shock........Tom
