Throttle Stop and SLE

So if I read the directions right, a MEGA 400/450 has the 4 stage timer for the TS, Plus it has the SLE feature..

So here is my question..using an air base plate stop, on a .90 car, if I want to use the SLE function also, whats the best way...add an in-line stop (by the way this is a gas carb) for that portion of it ? I was wondering if I could do it with a base plate stop, but I dont think that I could get it to go to both an idle for the SLE and the normal cruise rpm...

Comments /suggestions ?

Re: Throttle Stop and SLE

I'd run an in-line in addition to the base. I take the in-line off when I .90 race. I mash the gas so fast when .90 racing the air cylinder can't hold enough pressure to open the carb as fast as my foot would like. Or maybe my carb just doesn't want to open very easily. I have a #1-stop 3 way stop. I use a 2nd stage on it as a rev limiter on the burnout, and not the msd box. It works good, but it doesn't come up on rpms as fast as using the msd as a rev limiter.

If you try and use the base stop as a SLE, you loose the squirters when the blades open . I would go to a seperate in-line unit and don't activate the base unit (unless you want to play games at the other end). When you go back to .90 racing, take off the in-line unit. You know how much they can vary stop RPM.

Hey Tom, yea I think thats what we are going to set up (by the way this is not for my car, I already have the inline cause of the injection)...But what I have to figure out is, can I use both at the same time...the inline for the SLE and the base plate for throttle stopping the car...
Or
Do I have to use only one or the other....what I thought I read is that the Mega 400/500 will do it...

That way we can bracket race using the throttle stop....

You can. I have a 450 and run both when I bracket race.
