flat tappet vs roller
 
What do you guys think if I switch my current combo:
383,13-1,.558 int,.550 ex,260,266@.050 comp flat tappet,stock 215 Dart Iron Eagle Platinums,Manley 6 inch rods,Super Victor port matched,750 APD Alky carb, in my 3100 lb 68 camaro,to a COMP ROLLER#12-906-9,.276,.284@.050,.630,.630@107?How much H.P. do you think this roller will gain,if any?

Unless this car weighs < 2000 lbs and you have a 5800 stall converter. This cam is probably a bit too big for a perfect fit. Generally a roller cam is 40+ hp more than flat tappet.

et7333, I made amost the same switch this season in my 3400lb wagon. I picked up an honest tenth, maybe a little more. But the real gain for me was how much more the car was driver friendly in the pits, starting up and setting a nice smooth idle. I wish I would have put a roller in it years earlier.
