Ridiculous commentary
I'm not sure who does the commentary for DRC's qualifying sheets...they are usually pretty good with some good insights into what happened.
But this one from the final Pro Stock qualifying session shows some personal bias that's hard to overlook: Left Lane: Ryan Ondrejko Runs 6.663/205.88, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.641/206.95, Was #8 Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.652/206.67, Now #14; No Prior Run Kurt Johnson is on the bump spot at 6.701. If Morgan gets in, we will be racing tomorrow without either KJ or WJ. Morgan kills the front half just like in good days and ensures that nobody from Sugar Hill will be racing. Like them or not, this is stunning watching history being made. Congratulations to Morgan! What could be sweeter to a Mopar racer than making sure the Johnsons were shut out? Morgan should get a bonus or maybe a new Hemi Challenger just for that feat. Ryan Ondrejko's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.779, 660ft-4.278/164.35 mph, 1,000ft-5.571. Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.774, 660ft-4.271/164.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.562. |
Re: Ridiculous commentary
Whoever it was isn't aware that Larry is aligning with Ford for next year huh.

Re: Ridiculous commentary
Must have been the same person commenting during SS class - some were way wrong - saying the loser was the winner, calling a win a holeshot win when it was just a regular old 'left on 'em and had the hp to boot' win.

Re: Ridiculous commentary
Back to Warren's comments, specifically about spectator count and down playing the Nationals. It does seem kinda ironic for Alan Page and company to keep going on about how big the Nationals are (which they are of course, there is no disputing that) and then keep seeing the bleachers not even close to full. I think he's right that NHRA's ticket pricing strategy is all wrong and they should look at ADRL and others. Also, they and ESPN should see what SPEED is doing and show real racers racing and not just fill 5 hours of air time with countless interviews, many of which were filmed in Seattle in July. On Warren and Kurt, makes you wonder how a couple of hard working dedicated racers might ultimately be pushed out because of politics.
