National Event Schedules

For those of you asking to know the actual detailed class by class schedule at a national event prior to you having to view it at the credential trailer, check this out: Go to nhra.com. Today is Tuesday Aug, 11, go to the event schedule of the Brainerd race on the left side. Scroll down to the bottom and click on Detailed Event Schedule. It'll download a pdf file showing the class by class schedule. Obviously the schedule is subject to change but...

I e-mailed Graham Light this morning asking if something like this could be done. His response was the above. Feeling sort of foolish and out of the loop, I responded that I felt funny not knowing that it wsa there. His response was to not feel funny as he had it uploaded only when I asked. A schedule like this won't be available till probably Monday or Tuesday before an event as the fields aren't set until then, but at least it's there, and it's NHRA's way of responding to a question. Sometimes we all can be too hard on them, (me included at times-and sometimes they deserve it) but this was just a simple thing that one request was all it took to get rectified. It would be nice if we sent some e-mails to Graham Light thanking him for this. Could go a long way...

Thanks John for the homework, I'm sitting here in line @ Brainerd wondering what the schedule is. For an old guy like me it's easy to find.

I believe this is in response to the rant I posted here, and on another forum, after the Seattle event. Alan Reinhart called me the next day and we discussed this, during which I said "gee, there's this thing called 'the internet', and NHRA already posts a schedule... how about posting the whole schedule, sportsmen and all". He said, "that's not a bad, idea, I'll pass it along".

:)

There's no way I'm taking credit for this other than to pose the question to the right person. Now it would be nice to shoot an e-mail to the powers-that-be thanking then for listening and action upon our concerns, and that might include Alan for maybe getting the ball started.

I completely agree. I was very impressed by Alan's response (calling me) and getting something done about it. And I've told him so.

You're also right that if we think something's wrong, we need to tell the people who can change it. Often they aren't completely aware of the impact of choices/decisions they make. And email is free. :)
