Live from Martin
We arrived at the track about 8:20 after two and half hour drive from home. We are pitted next to Rock,Ginny and Zak Running. Weather forcast looks prety nice for the weekend. Pits were almost full when we arrived so late comers will be pitted in the spectator parking area.Brian is your wireless working down at the track? Jump in if you can. More tomorrow.

Re: Live from Martin
Chiming in from Camp Moneymaker . . . we are WAAAAYYYYYY at the end of the track. Got here about an hour before Mike. Lots of room in the pro area, we waited to get parked about 15 minutes, no one came, so we just took off and found a spot by our fellow Ford racers Jimmy Ronzello and George Wright. Looking forward to class in the morning! :)

Re: Live from Martin
Well, air is pretty bad. Not hot, but very low barometer. Under 29 with a bit of a cross/head wind. Nothing like Stanton, but it's not fast at all.
57 stockers. Class next round. Not sure how many Superstockers, but I would say less than 40. Bob Unkefer is doing the announcing today and he is so much fun to listen to! THANKS IHRA for bringing Bob in to announce for us! It's a pleasure! |
Re: Live from Martin
Billy Wilson, in the "good ol mr wilson" 66 belair wagon R/SA broke a ring and pinion on his first MOSER time shot. Just to show you what kind of guys we have at MOSER,everyone with MOSER even the boss Rob went straight over to Billy's trailer and helped change the gear. All they had was a 513 so car will be slower . At least he still gets to race.Others helping were Gill " Homer" Carty and gang along with myself. Car is ready for next pass. Thanks again MOSER.,..

Re: Live from Martin
Today was a rather beautiful day compared to last year here. Hi temp was only 81 degrees dry bulb. First round conditions were 70 degrees dry bulb 740 feet pressure altitude 68.4 % humidity 59 degrees dew point 1804 density altitude on my Nova system. I made a small jet change and it seemed to help somewhat. Second round (first round of class) was 80 degrees dry bulb ,700 feet pressure altitude ,57 degrees dew point,2361 feet density altitude. My car picked up .05 between first and second session and the only change I made was adding 1/2 pound of pressure in the rear tires. I have come to believe that I am on the lean side. In the finals of class it was 81 deegrees dry bulb, 700 feet pressure alt. 56 degrees dew point, 2419 density alt. I have to race Randy artin in the first round tomorrow morning. This will be a repeat of the finals at the Motor City Nationals 08. Randy is the number 4 finisher in IRA last year so I will have a basket of wildcats to deal with first thing in the morning. Looking forward to a nice dinner annd a good nights sleep (it was aa long day). Beth fill us in with your side of the story.
